One of my best friends, JALEN, inspired the key look of my collection. They love crop tops, and their favorite colors are pink and yellow.
I iterated on the jacket graphic and pant color blocking for cohesion with the remaining looks.

My collection’s “red thread” includes pieced construction of “bouba” (rounded) graphical elements and strategic layering with slits and cutouts.
Challenged with womenswear, I leaned on my style muse, Janelle Monae, for a quirky look that honed my direction.

“JACOB” is a culminating recontextualization of fabric, color, shape, and construction.
I had to consider how I would execute these cutouts in lined garments and settled on circular facings for the shell and bias-bound lining as the most feasible techniques.
